Pages 3-5: Amazing Word Cards

Pages 6-10: Spelling Word and Challenge Word Cards

Pages 11-14: Word Wise (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students list two word card words with each prefix pre-, mid-, over-, out-, bi-, and de-. Use each word in a sentence.

Pages 15-18: Word Work: (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students place twelve word card words with the prefixes pre-, mid-, over-, out-, bi-, and de- into the six column chart below. Add words that you come up with on your own.

Pages 19-20: Let’s Write! (I hang up the biography poster to help students remember what an biography is). Students write a biography of someone you know and admire. Include interesting facts and details. Use complete sentences.

Pages 21-24: Words To Know: (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students choose four word card words. Look up the different meanings. Write two sentences for each word to show the different meanings.

Page 25: Read For Meaning: Students read a Leveled Reader and write two sentences telling two facts from the text and two sentences giving two opinions.

Page 26: I included a portion of America’s Champion Swimmer: Gertrude Ederle for students to read for fluency.
