In this activity, your students will use their knowledge of America's first two political parties to decide if the primary source quote was said to support the Federalist Party or the Democratic Republican Party.
Each of the 10 quotes come from either Thomas Jefferson or Alexander Hamilton and highlight the differences between the two parties. The product includes:
Teachers can choose to either print out the quotes and hang in a gallery walk manner to allow students to move, print quotes and have students pass to the next group, or show the quotes and read together as a class. The way you decide to carry out the activity is up to you and what works best for your classroom!
Please note that the quotes from Hamilton & Jefferson in this activity are DIFFERENT than "Political Parties Emerge: The Creation of America's First Two Political Parties"
