Students will reenact a version of the ever-popular television show “America’s Got Talent”, with its focus on talent from Black History. Singers from the past and present will be recognized for their musical contributions in support of equality, justice, and love for humankind.
This production includes a full script, cast sheet, and production notes (per scene). It comprises 7 scenes, with a host’s introduction, a conclusion, and a finale. Cast includes 9 student readers as host/introducers/concluding announcer, male or female. Musical portrayals follow the readings to include approximately 13-18 additional student performers, as musicians or dancers (specific dance choreography not provided). This production can be utilized as a school-wide production or modified for a small group performance. Suggested song titles are included for each scene. Choral finale suggestion is included to allow for student singers/chorus. Specific musical tracks are not provided. Costume choices are left to the discretion of the director.
