This beginning reader, by Fran Rife, uses simple text to teach about amphibians. Students can read the story independently, in a small group, as a center activity, or with some guidance from an adult.
Students can utilize a number of reading strategies such as picture and context clues, sight words, sounds, and cvc words to decode text.
Sight words included are: have, they, are, in, on, with, and.
This book reinforces information introduced about amphibians. A great read aloud to go along with this book is About Amphibians by Deborah J. Short and Josefina Villamil Tinajero.
