Rock Transformations Unit
Chapter 2 - Lesson 6 (Investigating Hawaiian Rocks)
This lesson follows the teacher’s guide in Amplify Science. The PowerPoint allows you to follow the teacher’s edition without going back and forth between teacher and student view. Using this supplement provides me the freedom to teach the lesson with ease and I no longer need a separate IPAD with the teacher’s manual.
My PowerPoints have been created for a classroom that utilizes the online/interactive Amplify Science Program. However, you could modify my slides if your students do not have their own devices and you are using the Student Notebook.
In some of my lessons, you will see that I have opted to print certain pages from the Notebook for graded classwork. If you prefer students do all the work online, simply delete or change these slides.
For lessons that include an article, I remind students of the "Active Reading Guidelines" and our class expectations for "Student to Student Discussion". If this is your first or second time teaching a lesson with a reading piece, you should go through the steps in Amplify and introduce these strategies.
** This PowerPoint is created as a supplement to Amplify Science Lesson and can not be used unless your school has purchased the program.
