This project was issued in the 6th grade core and advanced science classes to support the unit on physics (primarily Newton's laws) and reviewing simple and compound machines. Students will basically design their own amusement park ride with a series of creative and science based criteria. Along with a description of the ride will be an illustration/poster of the ride. Each component has specific requirements. An option to create a model of the ride is also offered on the instruction page. This activity was very well received by all ot the classes and support the Standards of Learning for 6th grade science in the state of Virginia.
