Roller Coaster Physics Activity
Students will be building a conceptual coaster using the physics concepts that are used to design real coasters. Before they begin, they will define the vocabulary of roller coaster physics.
This ready-to-use, guided activity can be used for a unit on Roller Coasters in Physics, Design, Technology, etc. Students go to a website to learn about the physics of roller coasters. The worksheet includes the vocabulary of physics (students read the definitions, then reword and write on the worksheet). They then design their own interactive coaster. Also use as a ready-made sub plan! This aligns with the Common Core Learning Standards in reading and writing for Technical subjects.
This is a 4 page worksheet + answer key suggestions.
