Give your ESL/ ELL/ EFL/ EAL students a fun & engaging writing experience.
1. The puffin is sick of eating fish! Have your students brainstorm a new food for the puffin to eat.
2. Ask your students to think of a food they eat often with their family. This will help them be more persuasive.
***First, my students researched specific foods that their family eat all the time. They wrote down ingredients in the food to help develop details for their writing.
***Second, my students completed page 4 & 5 of the file that provided them with sentence starters to effectively write a persuasive paragraph. (*Note if you have level 2's this is all I asked of them, for level 3's see next step...)
***Lastly, my students used their first draft to create a final draft (page 6 & 7 of the file). I let them use their first draft as a resource, but asked them to write down more if they came up with different ideas.
