Product Description
In this download, you will find 60 different reading log sheets (5 for each month of the year), since not all months perfectly fit into 4 weeks. The pictures on each log align with the seasonal events occurring at the time, and hopefully fit in with various themes being covered in class. There is a ready to print PDF file, as well as an editable PowerPoint file. PLEASE NOTE: The ONLY editable part of the PowerPoint file is adding minutes to the goal. Images, wording, or formatting may not be added to or altered at any point. This was a feature I added, because I find myself regularly forgetting to write it in before I make copies, then I have to write it to each paper individually (what a pain, right?).

The themes are as follows:
January: Snow Globe, Snowmen, Peace, Penguins, Ice Hockey
February: Football, Hearts, Money (Penny), Oscars, More Hearts
March: Dr. Seuss, Daylight Savings (clock), Kindness Day, Sheep, Chicks
April: Easter, Umbrella, Raindrops, Earth Day, Kites
May: May Day (flowers), Mother’s Day (pies), Sunshine, Memorial Day, BBQ
June: Butterflies, Flag Day, Father’s Day, Kids, Fishing
July: Independence Day, Hammock, Ice Cream, Sunbathing, Swimming
August: Sunglasses, Frogs, Bees, Surfing, Ferris Wheel
September: School (bus), Labor Day (worker), Johnny Appleseed, Leaves, Vegetables
October: Fall (trees), Acorns, Pumpkins, Scarecrow, Candy Corn
November: Bats, Veteran's Day, Pilgrim Hats, Turkeys, Black Friday (shopping bags)
December: Hot Chocolate, Reindeer, Presents, Trees, Candy Canes

A note about these logs: I wanted to be able to track my kindergarteners reading at home (and keep them accountable), but found that having them fill out logs with each book that they read was just a little too much for them. I tried out several different reading log ideas, and settled on this one. Each week, my students color in one picture for every 5 minutes they read. I keep a total of 14 pictures, which total 70 minutes for the week or 10 minutes per day, on each page. In their homework packet, I outline how many minutes I want them reading that particular week, which usually ranges from 20-70 as the year progresses and depending on the type of reading they are to be doing. At the beginning of the year, they are to be read to BY their parents. By the end of the year, they are to be reading TO their parents. I outline these expectations on my weekly homework log. I also require that their parents sign their reading logs to confirm that they did indeed do their reading, otherwise, I would get very colorful sheets each week regardless of how much reading was done ;) I hope that you find these to be a valuable tool for tracking your students reading at home.

All files are meant for personal, classroom use only and may not be altered or added to for any commercial purpose (including freebies). This includes both the ready to print PDF and the editable PowerPoint.

Did you know that you can earn TpT credits to use towards future purchases simply by leaving feedback?

How it Works
Earn TpT Credits for purchases on TpT. You get one TpT Credit for every $1 you spend on TpT after you leave feedback. TpT even rounds up for you! If you provide fair feedback on a $4.75 item, you will earn 5 credits. Every 100 Credits is worth $5 that you can apply towards future TpT purchases, but there is no need to wait until you have 100 to redeem them. 50 credits is worth $2.50, for example.
The program is retroactive to feedback provided on purchases since August 1, 2011!

How to Redeem TpT Credits
You can keep track of how many credits you have accrued under the “My TpT” drop tab, then click on “TpT credit balance”. When you check out, you will be given the option of applying your TpT Credits to your purchase, thereby discounting your purchase price accordingly.
