This Word document is a summary of the plot of the Oscar Wilde play in "Fill in the Blanks" format.
There is one page for each act of the play. Students show their understanding of the plot, by filling in the blanks to create a summary. In this way, they are creating their own notes on the play. This active learning methodology works better than when I just provide them with notes. Also, I'm ensuring that they understand the plot, and are getting a good sense of character and theme.
This method works well with students of all abilities, but especially those who might find some elements of this play difficult to follow. Many of my students love this activity and don't view it as work!
This resource could also be used as a revision activity.
There is a word bank at the end of each page to help students.
The solution is also included (8 pages in total).
