PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

"An Indian Father's Plea" by Medicine Grizzlybear (Robert Lake) is a letter from a father to his son's teacher shows the importance of tolerance, acceptance, and multicultural education. Students from all cultures can easily relate to this letter. My lesson plan comes with a quiz in two different versions, an independent activity, and a collaborative group discussion activity using the RAFT strategy. This lesson requires students to consider others' viewpoints, think, write, and judge impact on the reader/listener. It is aligned to Common Core for 9-12 grades, but it could easily be used with 6th, 7th, and 8th grades as well. Quiz answer keys included.
