In this great work station activity pack students will be working with the -oo spelling pattern, as in book. There is a set of 5 games you will be able to use in whole group teaching, small group reteach, work station, or review. It is also already differentiated for you and for your students!
The first game, A Good Detective, Students will read -oo words and try to find the matching picture to that word. This is a great task for those students who still need those picture clues to make the connections with words.
The second work station game, Woof, Woof! Dog's Day Out, has students moving along a game board to help Paws get back home after a fun day out. They will be reading word cards to help reach the end. This is a great game that will grab your students attention because of the cute dog graphics.
In the next game, Stacks of Books, your students will have 2 different ways to play this card game set. They can play the traditional "Go Fish" way or they can choose to play the "Old Maid" way. Both sets of directions are included.
In the last game, Cooking Up Some -oo Words, students will need to think back to prior teaching about the other sound the -oo spelling pattern makes. They will then need to read word cards and sort them into the correct sound. This will help students focus on the skill of 'does it sound right? If not, how else can I say it' which is a skill that must be practiced.
You will love these work station games that give your students the variety of ways to practice this skill. Your students will love them because they will have the choice of how they want to practice that skill.
