Product Description
Boring. That is often the word we hear from students to describe Our Town. But by shifting your focus from the plot to the unique stylistic choices made by the author, you can reinvigorate the play and help students develop an appreciation for the innovation of Thornton Wilder. These 18 activities were designed to be used while teaching the play "film first," meaning that we watch an act first (from the Broadway version with Paul Neumann) to help students understand the performance and see it as it was meant to be seen and then return to the script and conduct a close analysis of the stage directions and intentional choices made by the author that help develop the larger themes of the play.
