Prezi is similar to a PowerPoint in that they are both presentation tools, but that is where their similarities end.
Prezi Presentations are created on a "canvas" rather than on "slides". Items on the canvas can be dragged, tilted, and zoomed to create an engaging look that really grabs students' attention. Prezi Presentations are also FANTASTIC for hitting many learning styles at once.

I put this Prezi together to explain to students how to analyze author's use of word choice to create tone.
Students are introduced to tone through the use of comparing two art pieces about similar subjects.
Next students are taught how to determine the tone of short pieces of writing.
Finally, students will complete a craftivity in which they will determine the tone of a book page and decorate the page according to the author's tone.
I have included handouts, student examples, and teacher tips as well!
This was one of my favorite activities this past school year!
