This is a worksheet to help students analyze a character in their reading and use evidence from the text to support their thinking. The teacher could complete one together with the whole class/group first to model how to find specific parts of a text/story that lead to inferences about a character. The student should then be able to complete one on a different character or for a different book on their own.
The worksheet asks students to record exact page numbers they found the information on which also makes it easier to find the part to share in a reading group.
This has helped my students really dig deeper into a text to find evidence and not just guess when they write character descriptions. (Close Reading)
