Students read and analyze 1 of 10 of FDR's speeches in pairs or groups from across his 4 terms in office. The handout has the list of speeches with the websites where they can be found. Each pair or group reads their speech, summarizes it, then takes on the role of reporter had they been in the room when FDR gave the speech (specifics in handout). The rest of the activity is outlined in the handout but includes group exchanges and presentations. This is likely a two or three day activity and absolutely requires internet access. The rubric is included, but the points values are left blank to allow for your own grading system.
