Nonfiction Article of the Week Club, Article #6-9: The Golden Age of Radio
Teach reading informational text standard RI.6.5, Analyze Text Structure & Text Features in a Nonfiction Article, with this high-interest article on The Golden Age of Radio. Students will also complete activities for text evidence, integrating information, literal comprehension, and take a comprehensive assessment.
This is the ninth in a set of 25 informational text articles + activity packs designed to teach ALL of the reading informational text standards for 6th grade in a fun, rigorous, and easy to implement solution! The focus in this resource is on teaching students to analyze text structure, including text features, in a nonfiction text.
Each article + activity pack includes these components:
-original article written at the 6th grade level
-modified version of each article (one grade level below)
-professional audio recording of each article and modified article
-editable version of all activities and assessments
-digital Google Slides version of all articles and activities
-self-grading Google Forms assessments (3 per article)
This article and activity pack makes a great paired text for The Hitchhiker (Fletcher) drama/play but can absolutely be used without the short story as there is no reference to the story within this unit.
