PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Engage students with rhetoric from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Students will read and analyze two of Dr. King's texts: "I Have a Dream" speech and "Letter from Birmingham Jail." The texts are not included in the lesson, but full length texts are easily found on any search engine.

Students will find the ethos, pathos, and logos in each text.

Students will find answers to questions from "Letter from Birmingham Jail."

After all of their analyzing is completed, students will write a multi-paragraph essay comparing and contrasting the two texts!

Students can work together or by themselves- YOU choose! A four day lesson plan is attached, as well as handouts and answer keys!

Common Core Aligned- All standards assessed are included in the lesson plan!
