• Students will read some information about Langston Hughes and respond to the text by answering questions.
• They will read the poem “Juke Box Love Song” by Langston Hughes, analyze it by working on a chart, and write a summary of the poem.
• They will read an example of a poem summary and follow the rubric to understand what they need to include in their summary.
• They will work on the summary with the help of some sentence stems.
You can work on it in the English class or in Read 180 class when doing the Harlem Renaissance workshop.
