Analyzing Language Devices in Literature is designed to teach your students how to identify, explain, and analyze language devices (literary or figurative language devices) in a text.
Students will take notes on polysyndeton, asyndeton, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, and alliteration. In the notes, students will record the definition, teacher example, and then create their own original example to help them remember the term.
Next, students will use a graphic organizer to help them identify, explain, and analyze language devices in the text. Students will also practice writing quotes in MLA format.
