    This resource will help your students understand why the Continental Congress moved away from the Articles of Confederation and created the U.S. Constitution. Provided is a PowerPoint (and Google Slides) presentation about the Constitutional Convention that I use with my 8th grade U.S. History students which explains why the Constitutional Convention was created followed with an investigation assignment of all seven articles of the U.S. Constitution. Details of how power was divided between the federal government and state governments, how representation in Congress was agreed upon, and how the three-fifths compromise was established regarding population and tax purposes will be understood by your students upon completion.
