Analyze the words spoken (some written by others and some spontaneous) by our President, Donald Trump. They reveal his love for challenges, and accentuate his goals for America, and give us a glimpse into how he plays the game (of real estate, of politics, of life). And yes, sometimes he says ridiculous stuff. There is a page where students think about his comments about Mexican immigrants (“rapists”), and another on his name calling (“Pocahontas”), but you won’t be turned off. I created 22 different activities so that you can help students look beyond the rhetoric of blue/red, Democrat/Republican, liberal/conservative, and to analyze the words of the man who is our President (elected and serving just as he promised, with excitement and noise, lots of noise, often distracting and annoying). Look at the Preview, please, and notice that I didn’t create activities that are divisive. The focus in your classroom should be inward, on student development, on developing critical thinking skills, and I think that you do your students well by helping them to analyze, and then internalize. Enjoy!
