This activity will help students practice analyzing a speech using Joseph McCarthy's "Enemies from Within" speech from 1950 about the threat of Communism in the United States.
The practice is embedded into the speech itself; there is some included background information and useful definitions at the beginning, then checkpoints throughout the text for students to stop and answer questions and highlight key points.
