Here is an alternative or elaborative activity to dissection where students create and study anatomical overlays of the frog by using transparencies and overlaying them to depict the 3-dimensional anatomy of the frog. Samples are included. A simple, but fun activity that requires some imagination and dexterity. This is a really good way to make sure that they understand systems and HS-LS1-2: Develop and use a model to illustrate the hierarchical organization of interacting systems that provide specific functions within multicellular organisms. Students can present their overlays to the class on the overhead.
