Description
This project requires students to create a video demonstrating their knowledge of anatomical terminology. They must show ten anatomical directions (superior, inferior, lateral, medial, etc) on a “victim” of their choice. They then give their “victim” a tattoo (sticker, draw one on, temporary tattoo, etc.) and must explain its location in three different ways, using proper terminology. (Example: “The tattoo is inferior to the sternum, which means that it is below the sternum.”)
The project requires students to record 10 anatomical directions in a creative way. They use a video camera (or even a cell phone!), create a video, upload it to YouTube, and email the link.
I watch and grade the videos (using the attached rubric), and then share the all the videos with the class when I am done grading them. You could even have students grade the work of each other and watch for errors- it helps them learn the terms even more.
I usually give students 1-2 work days in class, but make the project due a week after it is assigned. That way, if they are not done in class, they get more time to do it on their own (especially if they don't have a computer or a good editing program at home).
