ANCHOR CHARTS: Anchor Charts are an effective tool for literacy in every classroom. They make learning visible and accessible for all students and serve as a visual reminder of prior learning and a bridge to new connections.
Usually a teacher co-constructs the anchor chart with his/her students. But what if you let your students be the leaders in this process? What if small groups of students took the lead in the co-construction and the teaching of a concept to their classmates? The following activities and handouts will guide you and your students through a process that will do just that.
This activity could be used any time you have important ideas, concepts or strategies that you want your students to remember.
Rubric and self-assessment included.
