This map foldable is folded on two lines so that the sides meet in the middle to form a map of Ancient China. Directions are provided on a separate sheet to give your students step-by-step instructions for completing the map. The directions are given in PDF and PowerPoint formats in case you want to make changes to better fit your students' needs. Labels are also included in Microsoft Word format in case you want to add or delete labels.
The inside of the foldable has three sections:
1. In the first section, a space is provided for students to identify at least 3 natural barriers that kept Ancient China isolated.
2. In the second section, students will complete a chart by writing and drawing 6 ways the Ancient Chinese people benefited from the Yangtze River and Yellow River. (examples: The rivers provided fresh water and fertile soil for crops. The rivers were used for transportation. The rivers set natural boundaries).
3. In the third section, students will use a compass rose and a map to answer questions about the location of certain geographical features within and surrounding Ancient China.
A key and pictures of an example are included. This works great in interactive notebooks. Enjoy!
