Add some awe to your unit on Ancient China with this fun activity.
First, students study a picture of terracotta soldiers and generate ideas about what they see, think and wonder. This can be done whole group, in small groups or pairs. (I prefer whole group, especially if it's your first time doing the activity.)
Next, read the informational passage about the terracotta army. Students will be dying to learn more and have some of their questions answered! The passage comes with a few comprehension questions as well.
