ANCIENT HISTORY BROCHURE
After students have become proficient in internet research and graphic design, try this project which tests those skills in creating a 3-fold, double-sided brochure on an ancient civilization. Students have their choice of Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, or Ancient Celtic Civilizations. This unit includes websites where students can find information on clothes, daily living, architecture, warriors, weapons, art, music, entertainment, etc. The printable instructions also include pages on which students can take notes so the teacher can check progress and give interim grades accordingly. A grading rubric and answer sheet for all required information on the 20 different subjects are also included. The unit is targeted at 6th and 7th grade students and requires at least four class periods of work. Although instructions are given for creating the brochure in Apple’s Pages, you may adjust the requirements if you are using a different word processing program. This 12-page download is available as a PDF.
