What would it be like to vacation to an Ancient Civilization? You and your students can find out!
Students will receive mock correspondence from a radio station claiming that they have won an all-expenses-paid vacation to the Ancient Civilization of their choice.
Then, they will choose an ancient civilization to research and plan a vacation to visit that time and place. Students must incorporate transportation, lodging, food, and entertainment into their vacation plans. Groups of 2-3 will work together to produce a map or 3D model of their trip, an itinerary, list of souvenirs, and a packing list. Individuals will write a story of what they experience on their fictional vacation including sightseeing, people they met, and struggles they faced. The purpose of this project is for students to analyze civilizations and practice collaboration through a creative project.
