This product is a vocabulary exercise, in power point format, that covers the entire unit on Ancient Civilizations – Mesopotamia. The presentation covers 50 vocabulary words on Ancient Mesopotamia. The students are provided a list of the 50 vocabulary words within the presentation. Each vocabulary word is presented on a separate slide and contains the vocabulary word and its common definition.
Mesopotamia (means “between the rivers”) was a culture that thrived as a civilization between 3500 to 2000 BCE. It has also been called “the cradle of civilization.” Mesopotamia was a difficult environment for agriculture because there was little rainfall, the rivers flood at the wrong time for grain agriculture, and the rivers change course unpredictably, yet the civilization thrived.
The assignment for students is to review each of the 50 vocabulary words listed and to understand what they mean and how they became part of our vocabulary today. Sometimes vocabulary reviews can be a little stiff, so I have highly animated each of the 55 slides. They are also editable so you can feel free to adjust these slides as you need to.
Good luck and have fun with the presentation!
