Product Description
This is a 27 slide, highly animated, power point presentation on Ancient Civilizations - The Rise & Fall of the Roman Empire. Each of the slides are editable so you can change it to fit your individual needs.

The Roman Empire is the name given to both the imperial domain developed by the city-state of Rome and also the corresponding phase of that civilization, characterized by an autocratic form of government. It succeeded the 500 year-old Roman Republic, which had been weakened by the conflict between Gaius Marius and Sulla and the civil war of Julius Caesar against Pompey.

At its height around 117CE the Roman Empire spanned the whole of the Mediterranean world. Its 50 million people were connected by Roman law, customs and military might. The Roman world was generally peaceful and prosperous. There was one official language and one code of law. Soldiers guarded the frontiers and kept order within its boundaries. Proud Romans believed the empire would last forever.

The empire did not last. By the year 500, the western half of the empire had collapsed, marking the end of the ancient world and the beginning of the Middle Ages. Rome's influence on the culture, law, technology, arts, language, religion, government, military, and architecture of western civilization is a continuing legacy more than 1,000 years after the Empire ceased to exist.
