This download includes a “splash” of vocabulary terms, people, places, and ideas about the Ancient Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Chinese, and Indian Civilizations. Four different activities included. Hand out a word splash to each student. The students’ job is to draw connecting lines between the words to show how they are related. On the connecting line the student writes a statement explaining how the two items are related.

Pre-assess students’ background knowledge at the beginning of a unit of study.
Build interest and curiosity about the upcoming unit of study.
