Product Description
What are effigy Mounds?
Raised piles of dirt, Effigy Mounds mounds are numerous in the midwestern USA, especially in parts of southern Wisconsin where I live. Some are shaped like cones, some like lines and some like animals. It is estimated there may have been 20, 000 before European contact. Over time, most were destroyed to create farms, cities and roads. However, 4000 are still in existence and there are efforts to preserve and teach about these interesting man made land forms.

This packet includes 5 art lesson ideas, a template of effigy stencils, rubrics and an art standards checklist.
