This is a lesson/planning bundle of 9 lessons covering the topic of Ancient Egypt! The pack includes full lesson plans and resources, a PowerPoint file to accompany the lessons and a short assessment at the end of the unit. Each lessons should take around 1 hour to complete.
The focus of the bundle is history based but it incorporates elements of geography, English language (research, non-fiction composition), math, critical thinking skills and art.
The nine lessons included are:
~ chronology of Ancient Egypt;
~ where is Egypt and why is its geography so important to its history?
~ two lessons on the River Nile and why it was vital to Ancient Egyptian civilisation;
~ two lessons on archaeology focusing on finding evidence - this also includes the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb by Howard Carter;
~ how to write in hieroglyphics;
~ how the pyramids were built and their importance;
~ life after death and mummification; and
~ the significance of Egyptian Gods.
There is also a short end of unit test plus options for open-ended assessment. The lessons can be run as a sequence of 9 or cherry picked as you wish!
The .zip file itself contains a .pdf of all plans and resources plus the .pptx PowerPoint file to accompany the lessons.
