This is an interactive Social Studies Notebook package and more! Included in this unit is a blank KWL chart to facilitate research, which is accompanied by a list of suggested guiding questions. To encourage geography skills, several maps are included: a world map, an African map, a map of Egypt, and an Ancient Egyptian Resources map. This unit branches out into Math, Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. In Math, there are plenty of word problems included involving regrouping and non-regrouping, in all operations. Also included in Math are practice opportunities in perimeter and area, as well as matching, skip counting, and geometry (angles & triangle types). In Language Arts, students practice finding compound subjects and predicates, nouns (regular, proper, and pronouns), synonyms and antonyms, and analogies. In Reading, there is a sequencing activity. In social studies there are plenty of interactive notebook inserts: Egyptian mummy foldable, flat and 3-D pyramids, help wanted ads (describing jobs Egyptians may have held in those times), hierarchy pyramid to show the rank of people in Ancient Egyptian societies, Sphinx foldable, Interchangable pharaoh crowns, Crook & Flail, Kingdoms, the Pharaoh's position, and an opportunity to compare the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids to the Ancient Mayan pyramids through a cut and pasting activity.
