This activity require students to respond to DOK leveled and differentiated questions for the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, tomb of Tutankhamun, and accomplishments of Ramses the Great.
The questions are differentiated and apply to DOK levels 1-3.
Their is a culminating persuasive writing activity that apples to DOK 4 and requires students to research Queen Hatshesput and Ramses the Great to write and argumentative / persuasive essay declaring one or the other the better pharaoh.
This activity addresses Tennessee Standard 6.17
Analyze the impact of key figures from ancient Egypt, including: • Growth under the leadership of Queen Hatshepsut and her economic policies • Ramses the Great’s military conquests leading to growth of the kingdom • Significance of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb on the understanding of ancient Egypt
