This is the accompanying powerpoint to a fun lesson that introduces students to how archeologists are able to understand the past through artifacts.
Students are shown an object on the board, and have to determine what the object is and what it was used for. Students will take guesses on how large it is, what it is made out of, etc.
Next, the teacher will show 5 different artifacts (1 at a time). The students have to try and figure out what the original artifact is by surveying the new artifacts.
Students really love this...I like to leave them hanging and I don't tell them what the object is until the next class!
