This bundle will include everything that I use in my classroom including the quizzes and tests.

If you are interested in the THE FIRST SEMESTER OF WORLD HISTORY this includes everything and more.

- 0. DAILY PLANS: I have included 2.5 weeks of my daily plans and how I use these resources. There is more than 2.5 weeks of material in the bundle, just thought I would share how I use it.

- 1. CHAPTER PREVIEW: I do these with every chapter to allow the students to at least see what we are going to be studying before the unit begins. I have included 2 different versions of the Chapter Preview sheet. The chapter preview sheets take about 20 minutes to do in class.

- 2. MAP OF GREECE- I always start with a map of Greece as it is a great way to set the stage. It is always easier to do this in class as it is the best way to answer all questions and to make sure the students are doing what they are supposed to be doing. The students will be drawing a map and labeling it on their own.

- 3. BRONZE, DARK, AND GOLDEN AGES: I start with this as it provides a great way to introduce the three stages of progression the Greeks go through in their society. I will try and focus on the Golden Ages with Socrates, Plato and Aristotle as well as Alexander the Great's importance and significance. This will be in PPT and KEYNOTE format for adjustments. I have also made another version of this PPT.

- 4. ARISTOTLE AND PLATO ASSIGNMENT- I will spend some time having the students read this in class. This is a wonderful assignment that provides a lot of good discussion. I am sorry I do not have the key with it as it as at my school.

- 5 PLATO REPUBLIC SHORT VERSION-I have included this as a shorter version of the above. It only deals with the Republic with 4 questions. I do not have the key at this time which I apologize for.

- 6. SOCRATES, ARISTOTLE, PLATO QUOTES- With these you can select or delete the ones you do not want to provide the kind of discussion that you want. I pass these out and have the students write whether they agree or disagree with the quote and a short explanation of why they agree or disagree. The best part about this is the discussion afterword.

- 7. DIRECT AND IN DIRECT DEMOCRACY- This lesson shows some actual pictures of Greece as well as a concept attainment about direct and in direct democracy. I use very practical examples so the students really get this in a little simulation. In direct democracy I have the students vote directly as we discuss all the issues. In in-direct democracy I have the students elect 2 students to represent them, like student congress, and then they get to write notes to the elected as they try and influence the outcome of the issues. To take it one step further the teacher may create a ballot and have the students vote on the measures with the elected officials having the ability to reject or veto the measures. Have fun with it as it is a light fun day.

- 8. PARAGRAPH ASSIGNMENT: This assignment will be for the brave as I do not have the keys for this at the time. I start with explaining how to write a basic paragraph. This takes about 20 minutes to do this and is a great way to set the stage for expectations regarding the year. I then turn the students loose on investigating some of the differing characteristics of each of the three different cities within Greece: Athens, Sparta, and Corinth. Each city is completely different as they have different cultures but do embrace some things that are the same. I do not have the key for the chart but will post one up once I get back to school in September. You can email me as well and I will send it over. I have the students use the links provided on the paragraph rubric to fill in their chart. The chart will then be used to write 2 separate paragraphs to get the students used to writing compare and contrast paragraphs.

- 9. ALEXANDER THE GREAT: While the students are working on this assignment I typically show this. I do not have the students take notes but do give a 5 question quiz after the video. The link is below.

Alexander the Great Video

- 10. FALL OF GREECE: Just a great little short reading on the Fall of Greece. Easy to use and read for all levels.

- 11. MANKIND STORY OF US:

Here is what is included:
- A question sheet in WORD format that will keep the students following along.
- Answers to the question sheet
- A set of notes that can be referenced for a discussion following the video.
-BONUS: History Channel Mankind Story of US Guide

This 2nd episode is good for either junior high or high school as it deals with Iron Men, the Egyptians, Greeks / Persians, and Phoenicians and Jews.

A mysterious band of pirates plunders the Mediterranean coast–leaving destruction in its wake. Empires fall, but out of the chaos, we discover iron. Armed with this wonder metal, ordinary folk can overthrow tyrants and build a new world order. From the birth of democracy in Athens, to the creation of the Bible in Babylon–people power reshapes Mankind.

Here is what is included in this 6 page download:

1. Note Taking Guide for Students: This is essentially a blank section to take notes in.

2. Summary of the Video: A place for the students to write a short summary of what they have watched.

3. Teacher Notes from the: My 1 page of notes.

4. Vocabulary Section: I have chosen 3 words that would be good to have the students look up. I also have them write each of the words in a sentence.

5. Quiz for students / with answers: There is a 7 question quiz with answers from the episode. It can be taken in class or taken home. I think in class would be better.

6. Blank Template for student created quiz: I decided to add this to every Crash Course guide as it works really well with students.

- 16. FAMOUS FIGURE EVALUATION- Having students evaluate these famous figures is a great way to have students dig deeper into these famous figures. It includes 6 page bios, a lesson plan, PPT, and a quote analysis sheet for each of them. (Socrates, Plato and Aristotle)

- 17. PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP DISCUSSION: I made this 1 page leadership sheet to explore what is happening with this years election and to discuss a quote from the Greeks. It should be fun and take about 30 minute to complete.

- 18. ADDITIONAL GREECE NOTES: These are some additional notes in case you need them or want to use them to teach from.

FAMOUS FIGURE EVALUATION

- 19. GREEK COIN PROJECT – This is a really basic project that I made 20 years ago. I do not have any samples and is good if you have time to do it.

- 20. SOPHOMORE STRAIGHT DOPE – This is a great explanation of where the word and term sophomore came from. It is a 2 page reading and is really informative.
