Description

This project is a favorite for my World History students, even the ones that are not artistically gifted, as there are numerous ideas for them.

The project has students create a creative project related to our unit on Ancient Greece. Students can write a song, short story, their own myth story, a one act play, or they can jump into the art world and make a comic book (online or drawn), a mosaic, a diorama, or they can go with the classic, and remake the Trojan Horse (I have seen many Trojan Horses over the years made out of a lot of different items). I would have to say the one made out of Legos that dropped Sour Patch Kids was a great one. With web 2.0 tools so readily available, there are so many options for the students.

To prove that the students though know their history, they have to write an artist's statement that discusses their work of art and also discusses the historical merit to it.
