It is so important to use maps in social studies so that students can get an idea of where we are in the world--especially in the middle grades where this may be their first exposure to world history mapping.
I like using these types of foldable for mapping activities because it maximizes space! Students get a LARGE map, the directions for the activity, and a thought-provoking summary of the activity all on ONE piece of paper that neatly glues into their interactive student notebook.
This map includes instructions for labeling:
-major city-states of ancient Greece
-3 major seas that impacted Greece's economy, lifestyle, politics, etc.
-Mt. Olympus to tie into their knowledge of Greek mythology
-a reference to the Persian Empire and the Italian Peninsula
-Macedonia, so that students have a reference point when you reach the topic of Alexander the Great
-DOTS are on the map to mark the city-states
-I did provide an answer key
I hope that you enjoy using this product in your classroom!!
