Product Description
This is an Ancient Greece Spooktacular product that contains two different research/creative writing lessons for your class.

The first lesson assumes the students already have some prior knowledge on the 2nd Persian Invasion (Battle of Thermopylae) and puts a scary twist on the battle. The 10,000 Immortals are Zombies and your students will develop the outcome of the events while maintaining the underlying reasons for the war.

The second activity focuses on the Plague of Athens during the Peloponnesian War but has a science fiction spin on it that includes aliens attacking the walls of Athens.
Students will use the RAFT principle (Role, audience, format, topic) to create a proposal for Greece to end all of the chaos (end the fighting with Sparta, remedy the plague, and exterminate the aliens).

I included some good quotes from Pericles and Thucydides that go into details about the plague and the reasons for the war.

The reason I developed these lessons is because I always teach about Ancient Greece around Halloween and wanted to have some extra fun with it.

These are HIGH level activities, but you may find some of your disciplinary issue kids or students who seem unmotivated perform very well with the project.

I ALSO added guided note questions for the video Last Stand of the 300 which is a great History Channel documentary
