A study guide can be used to compact new curriculum to allow gifted and high achieving students to move through the material independently and at a faster pace than the class, while the classroom teacher teaches the unit directly to the class. This study guide was created following the study guide method in Susan Winebrenner’s Teaching Gifted Kids in the Regular Classroom and was initially created for use with Chapter 5, Ancient Egypt in the McDougal Littell textbook World History: Ancient Civilizations, 2006, but can be used with any study on Ancient Egypt.
This study guide includes activities such as: vocabulary, mapping, writing a first-person biographical sketch, land use, pyramid building, social roles, learning advances and creating a timeline.
