Augustus Caesar will teach your students about the man that became the first emperor of Ancient Rome.
Activities include a multi-page reading on Augustus and his life, including his childhood, the Second Triumvirate, his early time in politics, and his rise to becoming one of the most famous emperors the world has ever known. Students will then use this information to complete a foldable on the man and his accomplishments.
Continuing on, students will analyze eight idioms that originate from the time of ancient Rome. The idiom lesson includes foldables, origination of the idiom and story behind how it came to be, and its meaning in our daily use today. This is a great way to integrate language arts and social studies together.
