Product Description
As stated earlier, this is not a full lesson. It is an opener or closure that can be used as a springboard to build interest in a study of government (not always the most interesting topic for students to learn about). Essentially, you’ll get things started by telling a story (something that happened to you or make one up). The story will show how many ways government is involved in our lives. Students will then have whatever time period and whatever parameters you choose (I provide 10 minutes and anywhere in the school) to investigate how many ways the government is involved in school).

This lesson is not a Republican-Democrat issue. What I mean by government involvement is that there is a connection to government in almost every aspect of our daily lives. The point is to show students that government is everywhere, and students should learn about it and be able to discuss it intelligently. For example, there is government regulation in food safety, and just about everyone would agree that is a good idea. How much involvement, however, is where we see the political designations. See my model below in the lesson portion.
