This is a great Common Core assignment and it hits an important topic that we did not cover in our unit: the rise of Christianity. If you did the extension learning activity over Greek Gods in the previous unit then it is almost imperative that you include this one; the two assignments work off each other perfectly. Also, if you plan on emphasizing the role of the Catholic Church in Medieval Europe later on, then this assignment is very important. If you did not do the Greek Gods assignment and do not plan to emphasize the role of the Church in the next unit, this lesson still works because it adds an all-important element of reading and comprehension that is being so heavily stressed today.
