Teach your students how to write in ancient forms of writing with this bundle of three ancient writing activities! Your students will have fun learning how writing began as simple pictographs and ideographs before finally becoming cuneiform in Mesopotamia. Then, your students will discover how one of the world's greatest civilizations, Egypt, created and used hieroglyphics. Finally, your students will learn how to write with Greek letters.
Throughout these activities that use Google Slide presentations as well as printed activity sheets, students will not only learn about each of these writing systems individually, but through doing them all will come to understand how writing developed from pictures on cave
walls to the letters they use today.
All of these activities are great for enrichment, and are especially great to use on those days right before a long break (Thanksgiving, Winter Break, Spring Break) when students' minds are less than optimally focused.
