This bundle includes all the awesome resources I use to teach Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. Here is what's included:
Vocabulary Sheet-- This graphic organizer lists 20 vocabulary words from the novel. Students look up and study the definitions, then write their own sentence using the word or draw an image that illustrates use of the word. As you read the novel, students recognize these vocabulary words in context.
Pre-Reading Activity-- In groups, students examine the nature of evil as it pertains the characters in the novel. This activity involves group discussion and writing, and grabs students’ interest by previewing the text.
Character Chart-- With so many different characters in the novel, this graphic organizer helps students keep the details organized. This sheet includes 10 main characters and space for students to record information about characterization and plot.
Journal Prompts-- These six journal prompts help students think critically about the themes and characters in And Then There Were None.
Mystery Solved: Epilogue Guided Reading-- Sometimes students find out who the killer is and gloss over the epilogue and manuscript at the end. Other times, students fail to read them all together! Use these guided reading questions to help students parse the ending of the novel.
Test with key and review-- This test includes a matching section based on plot and characterization, a vocabulary section, and essay responses. A key is included. You also get a test review sheet that you can give students to help them prepare.
Movie and Novel Comparison-- This activity is for the is a 1945 film adaptation of And Then There Were None, directed by René Clair. The film version alters several of the characters’ names, and this graphic organizer guides students as they watch, prompting them to examine similarities and differences.
