You can use this project to get students thinking objectively about history. They have to provide information for both sides of Andrew Jackson's life – Hero and Villain.
They also have to decide, based on their research and prior knowledge, should Andrew Jackson continue to be printed on the $20 bill? This should be their own opinion, and they should also provide another option for the $20 bill. Who else in history or currently would qualify?

You can do this project before you start teaching about Jackson, or afterwards – either way, it will help enrich students’ understanding of Jackson.

This project can be used for On Level classes or Gifted classes.

My students have enjoyed doing this project because they learn things about Jackson that they didn't know before and they start to look at history and how it's written differently.
