After years of failing at making good anecdotal records, I created folders for each subject area with a card for each student. These cards were taped down overlapping so just each name showed, making it easy to find and flip to the right name while taking up little space. I then developed these codes to help make my notes quick, concise, and still easy to understand when I looked back at reporting times. I taped the 'look fors' into the folder and began making notes!
- 'look fors' sheet for reading, writing, and math divided into four categories to use as a 'cheat sheet' when recording observations
- card template to be used for each student. Just print on cardstock, write each name in the bottom corner and tape into your file folder!
